| The
Kendall School
is located in Modesto, California and serves children in Stanislaus
and San Joaquin Counties. The Kendall School is a nonpublic
school certified by the California Department of Education
to provide center-based intensive early intervention to children
12 months - 5 years of age.
Children
attending the The Kendall School receive intensive
1:1 intervention. Experience with typical peers is provided
through The Kids Helping
Kids Program at The Kendall School. When it
is appropriate for the individual child, children
enrolled in The Kendall School also participate in
an off-site preschool with typically developing children as
part of their intensive intervention program.
Children
attending The Kendall School receive some portion of
their intervention hours at home each month (usually 2 Saturday
mornings each month). In addition, their parents work closely
with school staff to promote generalization of skills from
school to home. In addition to attending the bi-monthly staffings
at The Kendall School for their child, each child's
parents meet individually with school staff to select and
develop functional and adaptive skills most meaningful for
the family. These programs are then delivered by the parents
in home and community settings, with consultation and support
from school staff.
