While a full program for a child over age 3 involves programming for an average of 47 weeks, up to 40 hours per week, the child is awake and out of therapy more hours than he or she is in therapy. Therefore, parental involvement is critical to the gains made by children receiving services from Therapeutic PATHWAYS.

As such, parent must attend both of the bi-monthly staffings for their child and participate in 80% of the all-staff inservices. All-staff inservices, which are provided by Directors and all members of the Clinical Staff, address general behavior management principles, incidental language opportunities, teaching toy play, behavioral difficulties, etc. and are held every 8-12 weeks.

Parents also play pivotal roles in identifying skills to promote a full family life as well as active participation in data collection, videotaping, and implementation of selected programs outside therapy hours. Members of the child's Clinical Team work closely with families to accomplish these goals and tasks.
