Modesto Kendall Center
The Kendall Center in Modesto, CA is motivated to deliver exceptional care that is supported by science. Our mission is, and always has been, to improve the daily lives of individuals touched by autism, through advanced researched and state-of-the art analytic behavior treatment.
Parents and care givers trust us to help their loved ones dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), because our treatment plans mirror effective treatment based on over 300 research studies involving children and teenagers with autism and developmental delays.
We focus on our clients, but families, administrators, and educators are also touched by the success of our treatment programs. Our goal is work with you, so that your children will thrive and be as independent as possible.
Making a Difference
Early diagnosis makes a huge difference in the effectiveness of treatment. Research has shown, that children with ASD who receive intense and comprehensive treatment, as soon as possible, are more likely to catch up to their peers by the time they are 6 years old.
Behavioral intervention is an important aspect of overall treatment, because as children age, behavioral needs also change. The type of intervention offered by the Center helps to target skills that may interfere with social development, overall learning, and living a more independent life. Intervention programs for children, that are school age involve up to 20 hours of intervention work a week. Specific goals are targeted to increase independent living, successful navigating in the social world, and participation in family activities.
Social Skills Groups
Our main goal is to help young people with autism to improve their social functioning abilities. This is achieved through productive and positive social interactions, and learning how to recognize and deal with problems that arise on a daily basis. These important lifestyle skills will help an individual lead a pleasant and successful life. Growth is promoted through social skills groups that are conducted twice week, in two-hour increments for young people starting at age 7. During these structured and guided sessions, patients learn to manage behaviors that may interfere with self-regulation, social skills, and acceptance.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to attend individual, as well as group training sessions, which include identifying specific areas of needs and put into place a strategic plan, to focus on and strengthen specific skills
